LeRoy Feagler

LeRoy was born on August 3, 1929 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska the son of Henry, Sr and Molly (Temple) Feagler. He attended school at Scottsbluff and in 1944 moved with his family to Torrington, Wyoming where he continued his education. He married Arlene Weickum at Torrington on February 5, 1950 and the couple farmed south of Torrington and later in the Sheep Creek and Huntley areas. LeRoy and Arlene then bought a farm south of Torrington and one north of Torrington. The couple also owned and operated the Torrington Sod Farm. LeRoy served on the Goshen Irrigation District Board of Directors for 22 years. He received the outstanding young farmer award and he received the Headgate award from Four States Irrigation Council. LeRoy was also an FFA Honorary Chapter Farmer. He enjoyed antique tractors and tractor pulls, and he liked to watch baseball. He is survived by his wife, Arlene of Torrington; four daughters, Connie (Dennis) Schliske of Virginia Beach, VA; Debbie James of Torrington; Jacque (Paul) Howard of Aurora, CO; and Julie Feagler of Littleton, CO; two sons, Stephen (Debi) Feagler of Torrington, WY; and Jeff (Melinda) Feagler of Torrington; two sisters, Irene Hoffman and Ruth Feagler both of Scottsbluff, NE; three brothers, Henry Feagler, Jr, Lawrence (Mary) Feagler, and David (Sandra) Feagler all of Torrington; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Tara Feagler, one grandson, Andrew Schliske, and one sister Lydia Keller. TORRINGTON, WY . . . Funeral services for LeRoy C. Feagler, 82, will be held at 10am on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the First Congregational Church with Reverend Matt Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. LeRoy died on June 21, 2012 at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday, June 27 at the Colyer Funeral Home from 3pm to 7pm. and the casket will be open briefly prior to service time. Memorials may be directed to either the First Congregational Church or to the Agriculture Technology Education Center at EWC.
