Margaret "Margie" Arlean Baker

A celebration of life to be held at Pioneer Park in Torrington, WY on April 25, 2026, from 11am – 3 pm. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to WyoHelp and/or bring a food dish to the celebration of life. On January 27, 2026, an avid Elvis Presley fan, Margaret “Margie” Arlean (Jenson Sinks) Baker, age 74, joined her Teddy Bear (Bob Baker) and love of her life in death. She passed away after a short illness at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, NE. Many that met Margie were always greeted with a smile and a hug. She enjoyed listening to Elvis and Country and she was a big fan of the DJs on her local radio station, where she started the day with their playing of the National Anthem. Margie was born on January 17th, 1952, to Margaret “Dolly” (Kutulas) and Daniel Jenson, Jr. in Seattle, WA. Joining an older brother, Loren (Hudson) Fricke, and later a younger brother, Rodney Fricke. Margie’s family soon relocated to Western Nebraska where her mom married William Fricke adding a stepsister, Letha. Margie grew up in numerous communities in Western Nebraska and had fond memories of farm and school life. In 1970 she married Rodney Sinks and during this marriage gave birth to a son, William. After her divorce in 1973, she worked in her mother’s cafe in Lyman, NE. It was in here that she met Bob Baker, her soulmate. In 1975, she married Bob and her family of two grew to a family of five with two stepchildren, Deana and Wayne. After her marriage, she added a daughter Kimberly and sons Loren and Derek. After all of her children graduated from high school, she filled her days working with the public in retail and sales at places like Big Country Oil (Ranchester, WY), Walmart (Casper, Wy), Douglas Grocery & Pamida (Douglas, WY) and Main Street Market (Torrington, WY). She also managed the Land of Goshen for a few years. She even worked at Fountain of Youth RV park in Thermopolis, WY. She was both an Avon and a Tupperware lady. She also tried her hand at being a business owner by opening a used book store, co-owner with her husband to a hardware store and a mobile movie business. She enjoyed every job that she worked. When she broke her leg in 2021, she finally decided it was time to enjoy home life. So, she stayed home and became a caregiver to Bob and discovered she enjoyed doing research so studied her own genealogy. Margie accomplished a lot in her life and one accomplishment that stands out was when she was able to assist in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew that hit Florida in 1992 with the Red Cross. She came back with a wealth of stories of what she experienced and seen in the aftermath. She was a life member of the Chapter 2009 and Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 664 in Torrington. She was a collector of projects and had numerous ones to keep her busy. She loved cookbooks and enjoyed baking cookies, eating strawberries, spending time with her family, listening to Elvis or her favorite radio station. Over the course of her life, she raised 6 amazing children and became a grandmother to 6 wonderful grandchildren. She was loved by her family, and each were devastated with her death. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, George Robert “Bob” Baker (2025), her eldest (step) son Wayne Baker (2022), Brother-In-law James Baker (2020), Older brother Loren (Hudson) Fricke (2020), Step sister Letha Boyd (2006), Sister-in-Law Judith Michaud (1994), A granddaughter (2002), her parents and grandparents, and numerous friends. She is survived by her (Step) daughter Deana Baker of Lingle, WY, son William (Roxanne) Baker of Torrington, WY, daughter Kimberly (John) Putnam of Riverton, WY, Son Loren Baker of Torrington, WY and Derek (Ann) Baker of Torrington WY. Her grandchildren John of Louisiana, Arik Baker, Bohdan Baker, Silas Baker, Arabella Baker and Athena Baker all of Torrington Wy, Her younger brother Rodney (Christie) Fricke of Douglas, WY, her daughter-in-law Candace Dunn (South Carolina), numerous Nieces and Nephews, and her best friends Karen, Beth, Paula all of Torrington Wy and KC of St. George Utah.
