Memorial services for PATRICIA JEAN TEMME, 78, of Cheyenne, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 26, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2973 East B St., Torrington, and at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 5801 Dell Range Blvd., Cheyenne. Burial was held June 17th at Valley View Cemetery in Torrington. In lieu of flowers, memorials to her congregations’ youth programs are encouraged. Patricia entered her eternal home on June 14, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. Patti was born Aug. 28, 1947, the second child and oldest daughter of Paul and Nellie (Goodman) Annis in Akron, Ohio. She was baptized November 9, 1949, at Zion Lutheran Church in Akron and confirmed there on March 26, 1961. She attended Zion Lutheran Elementary, graduated from Glenwood High School in Canton in 1965, and earned her associates degree from St. Johns Junior College in Winfield, Kansas, in 1967. She was then employed by Lutheran Family Services in St. Louis. While there she met Marvin Temme, a future pastor. They married on June 9, 1970. Rooted in the faith she received at the font, Patti understood that God works through ordinary means — Word and Sacrament — and she made sure her children and grandchildren were nurtured in that same grace. She embraced her role as a pastor’s wife, navigating new churches and a growing family with gentle grace. Marvin and Patti welcomed Melissa in Fallon, Montana in 1972, Aaron in Buffalo, Wyoming in 1975, and Lynn in Torrington, Wyoming in 1983, serving congregations in all three locations. In Torrington, their home of 43 years, Patti opened a well-respected home daycare that maintained a waiting list until her retirement in 2015. Marvin and Patti relocated to Cheyenne in 2023 to be closer to family and specialized medical care. Patti understood her calling not simply as motherhood, but as a God-given vocation — a daily opportunity to hand down the faith through scripture, prayer, and the steadfast witness of a life lived in Christ. She expected much of her children and loved them enough to hold them accountable, yet she also delighted in laughter and mischief. Her gentle presence brought calmness wherever she went, and she could make anyone feel like a welcomed and treasured friend. As her family grew, she remained its communication hub, keeping everyone close no matter how far they flew. Patti is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Ronald and Richard. Survivors include her husband, Marvin Temme; brothers Robert (Karen) Annis of Ronald, Washington, and Rodney (Patrice) Annis of Canton, Ohio; sister Susan Annis of Canton, Ohio; children Aaron (Jessica) Temme of San Diego, California, Melissa (Scott) James of Laramie, Wyoming, and Lynn (Josh) Hickox of Cheyenne; fifteen grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
