HENRY, NEBRASKA...Funeral services for ROBERT JAMES ORR, 71, will be held at 10:00a.m. Thursday April 12, 2007 at the Henry Methodist Church with Tom Youngquist officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington, Wyoming. Robert died April 8, 2007 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. A memorial has been established to the family. Visitation will be at the Colyer Funeral Home Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. and before the service at the church. Robert was born May 22, 1935 in Lewellan, Nebraska the son of James and Opal (West) Orr and grew up and received his early education there. He graduated from Torrington High School. He then served two years in the U.S. Army and upon his discharge he returned to the Goshen County area where he worked road construction for a while. He met and later married Pauline Wilhelm on November 13, 1960 in Torrington and they moved to Henry. He worked for Hiner Implement for awhile before operating Orr's Conoco in Henry from 1967 until 1974. Robert then worked for Western Sugar in Mitchell, Nebraska from 1974 until 1981 when he bought and operated Orr's Conoco which he ran until he retired in 1997. Robert loved hunting, fishing, camping, reloading, woodworking and anything he could do with his hands. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Henry Methodist Church, the Henry Fire Department, and the Morrill, Nebraska Cemetery Board. Robert is survived by two daughters, Kelly Svitak and her husband Mark of Colona, Illinios, and Laurene Avila and her husband Jeff of Henry; one brother, Larry Orr and his wife Joyce; a sister, Jeri Sue Teske and her husband Roger all of Torrington; and five grandchildren, Brent Svitak of the U.S. Marine Corp, Tylor Svitak of Colona, and Kristen, Brandon, and Andrew Avila all of Henry. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one son Robert James Orr Jr.
